    Supported Operating Systems

    Wide variety of Linux distributions for your cloud instances

    RamNode Cloud supports a wide variety of Linux distributions through both cloud-init images and ISO installation.

    Available Cloud Images

    Pre-configured with cloud-init and optimized for quick deployment:

    Ubuntu - 20.04 LTS, 22.04 LTS, 24.04 LTS
    Debian - 10 (Buster), 11 (Bullseye), 12 (Bookworm)
    CentOS - 7, 8 Stream, 9 Stream
    Rocky Linux - 8, 9
    AlmaLinux - 8, 9
    Fedora - Latest stable releases
    Arch Linux - Rolling release

    ISO Installation

    For maximum flexibility, you can install any Linux distribution (or even BSD) using ISO images. We provide ISOs for common distributions, or you can upload your own custom ISO.

    ISO installation gives you complete control but requires manual setup. For faster deployment, use cloud images.

    Windows Support

    Windows is not officially supported on our cloud platform at this time. However, you can bring your own Windows license and install from ISO if needed.

    Keep in mind that Windows installations require more resources and may not be optimized for our cloud environment.

    Custom Images

    You can upload your own custom images to the cloud platform. Images must be in RAW, QCOW2, or VMDK format and should be configured for cloud-init if you want to use advanced features like SSH key injection.

    Recommendation

    We recommend using our cloud images for faster deployment and better integration with the cloud platform. See Cloud Image vs ISO for more information.
