    SWIP IP Addresses

Register IP addresses in your organization's name for professional WHOIS records

    On This Page

    What is SWIP?

SWIP (Shared Whois Project) is a process where an Internet Service Provider reassigns IP address space to customers. When IPs are SWIPed, your organization information appears in WHOIS lookups instead of the provider's information, establishing you as the official registrant.

This provides professional appearance, better control over your IP reputation, and is essential for organizations with specific compliance or email deliverability requirements.

    Benefits of SWIP

    Email Deliverability

Many email providers prefer IPs registered directly to the sending organization, improving your email reputation and delivery rates.

    Professional Image

Your organization name appears in WHOIS records, demonstrating legitimacy and proper network management.

    Reputation Control

Separate your IP reputation from other customers, giving you complete control over your network's standing.

    Compliance

Some industries and regulations require proper IP ownership records for legal and operational compliance.

    Requirements

    What You'll Need

To qualify for SWIP, you'll need to provide:

    • Minimum IP allocation (typically /28 or larger for IPv4)
    • Valid organization information including legal business name
    • Physical business address
    • Technical contact name and email address
    • Abuse contact email address
    • Business phone number

    Pricing & Allocations

SWIP is available for a one-time setup fee. The cost varies based on:

    • IPv6 allocations - Usually /48 or larger
    • Number of IP addresses - Larger blocks may have different pricing

Contact our support team for current pricing specific to your allocation size.

    Important Considerations

    Before Requesting SWIP

    • It's semi-permanent - Reversing SWIP incurs additional fees
    • You handle abuse reports - All complaints come directly to you
    • Information must be accurate - False information can result in de-registration
    • Ongoing maintenance - You're responsible for keeping WHOIS data current

    Do You Need SWIP?

SWIP is most beneficial if you:

    • Run email servers and want optimal deliverability
    • Require professional WHOIS records for your business
    • Need dedicated IP reputation management
    • Have regulatory compliance requirements
    • Want control over reverse DNS records

Note: For most use cases, standard shared IP space works perfectly fine. SWIP is primarily valuable for businesses with specific IP reputation or compliance needs.

    Additional Features with SWIP

    Reverse DNS Delegation

Gain complete control over your PTR records by delegating reverse DNS to your own nameservers. No more support requests needed for rDNS changes - manage everything yourself.

Benefits: Instant PTR updates, full DNS control, easier mail server management

    IPv6 SWIP Available

SWIP isn't just for IPv4. Get your IPv6 allocations SWIPed too using the exact same process. Perfect for organizations with large IPv6 deployments.

Typical allocation: /48 or larger for IPv6 SWIP
