    Accessing Your Control Panel

    Learn how to access and use SolusVM for your OpenVZ VPS

    What is SolusVM?

    SolusVM is the control panel for legacy OpenVZ VPS instances. It provides a web-based interface to manage your VPS, including start/stop/reboot controls, OS reinstallation, console access, and monitoring tools.

    Cloud VPS vs Legacy VPS

    If you have a Cloud VPS instance, you should use the Cloud Control Panel at cloud.ramnode.com instead. This documentation is specifically for legacy OpenVZ instances using SolusVM.

    How to Access Your Control Panel

    Method 1: From Client Area

    1. Log into clientarea.ramnode.com
    2. Go to "Services" → "My Services"
    3. Click on your VPS service
    4. Look for the "SolusVM Control Panel" section
    5. Click "Login to SolusVM"

    Method 2: Direct Login

    1. Visit your SolusVM URL (provided in welcome email)
    2. Enter your SolusVM username
    3. Enter your SolusVM password
    4. Click "Login"

    Finding Your Login Credentials

    Your SolusVM login credentials are available in several places:

    • Welcome Email - Sent when your VPS was first provisioned
    • Client Area - Under your service details
    • Support Ticket - Contact support if you can't locate credentials

    What if I Lost My Password?

    1. Visit the SolusVM login page
    2. Click "Lost Password?"
    3. Enter your SolusVM username or email
    4. Check your email for reset instructions

    Control Panel Features

    Dashboard

    The main dashboard shows:

    • VPS status (online/offline)
    • CPU usage graph
    • Memory usage
    • Disk usage
    • Bandwidth usage
    • IP addresses

    Power Controls

    • Boot - Start your VPS
    • Reboot - Restart your VPS
    • Shutdown - Gracefully stop
    • Kill - Force stop

    Console Access

    Direct access to your VPS, similar to having a keyboard and monitor connected. Useful if you lose SSH access.

    Reinstall Operating System

    Reinstall your VPS with a new OS or the same OS. This erases all data - backup first!

    Rescue Mode

    Boot into a minimal environment to repair file systems, recover data, or fix boot issues.

    Common Tasks

    Rebooting Your VPS

    1. Log into SolusVM control panel
    2. Click the "Reboot" button
    3. Confirm the action
    4. Wait 1-2 minutes for reboot to complete

    Accessing Console

    1. Log into SolusVM control panel
    2. Click "Console" or "VNC"
    3. A new window will open with console access
    4. Click inside the console to begin typing

    Checking Resource Usage

    1. Log into SolusVM control panel
    2. View the graphs on the main dashboard
    3. Click "Statistics" for detailed historical data
    4. Monitor CPU, RAM, disk, and bandwidth usage

    Troubleshooting Access Issues

    Can't Login

    • Verify you're using the correct SolusVM URL
    • Check that you're using SolusVM credentials (not Client Area credentials)
    • Try password reset if needed
    • Clear browser cache and cookies
    • Try a different browser

    Control Panel is Slow

    • Check your internet connection
    • Try a different browser
    • Disable browser extensions
    • Contact support if issue persists
