Creating a New Email Account
With cPanel, you can create professional email addresses using your own domain name (e.g., info@yourdomain.com).
Step 1: Access Email Accounts
- Log into your cPanel
- Find the "Email" section
- Click on "Email Accounts"
Step 2: Create the Account
- Click "Create" or "+ Create"
- Enter the email username (e.g., "info" for info@yourdomain.com)
- Select your domain from the dropdown
- Enter a strong password or use the password generator
- Set mailbox quota (storage limit) or use unlimited
- Click "Create"
Email Account Settings
Password
Choose a strong password with uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters. Use the built-in password generator for a secure random password.
Mailbox Quota
The mailbox quota determines storage space:
- • Unlimited - Uses your overall account disk space
- • Custom MB - Set a specific limit (e.g., 250 MB, 1000 MB)
Accessing Your Email
Webmail Access
Access email directly through your browser:
https://yourdomain.com/webmail
or
https://yourdomain.com:2096Login with your full email address and password.
Webmail Applications
cPanel offers two webmail applications:
Roundcube
Modern, user-friendly interface (recommended)
Horde
Feature-rich with calendar and tasks
Email Client Configuration
Configure email clients like Outlook, Thunderbird, or mobile mail apps:

IMAP (Recommended): Syncs email across all devices, emails stored on server, better for multiple devices.
POP3: Downloads emails to device, emails typically removed from server, good for single device access.
Managing Email Accounts
Changing Password
- Go to Email Accounts in cPanel
- Find the email account
- Click "Manage"
- Scroll to "Security" section
- Enter new password
- Click "Update Email Settings"
Changing Quota
- Go to Email Accounts
- Click "Manage" for the account
- Find "Storage" section
- Adjust quota slider or enter custom value
- Click "Update Email Settings"
Deleting Email Account
- Go to Email Accounts
- Find the email account to delete
- Click "Delete"
- Confirm deletion
Warning
Deleting an email account will permanently delete all emails and cannot be undone. Make sure to backup any important emails first.
Email Forwarders & Autoresponders
Email Forwarders
Forward emails from one address to another:
- In cPanel, go to "Email" → "Forwarders"
- Click "Add Forwarder"
- Enter the address to forward FROM
- Enter the destination address to forward TO
- Click "Add Forwarder"
Autoresponders
Set up automatic replies (e.g., vacation messages):
- In cPanel, go to "Email" → "Autoresponders"
- Click "Add Autoresponder"
- Select the email address
- Enter subject and message
- Set start/stop times (optional)
- Click "Create"
Troubleshooting
Can't Send or Receive Email
- Check email client settings (server, ports, SSL)
- Verify username and password are correct
- Check mailbox quota isn't full
- Ensure SMTP authentication is enabled
- Check spam folder for missing emails
Email Going to Spam
- Set up SPF records
- Configure DKIM authentication
- Enable DMARC
- Avoid spam trigger words in subject
- Ask recipients to whitelist your address
Mailbox Full
- Delete old emails
- Empty trash/deleted items folder
- Increase mailbox quota in cPanel
- Archive old emails locally
Best Practices
