    Nameserver Setup

Point your domain to RamNode hosting

    What are Nameservers?

Nameservers are like the internet's phone book. They translate your domain name into the IP address of your hosting server, allowing visitors to reach your website.

    DNS Propagation

    Propagation Time:

    • Minimum: 4-8 hours
    • Average: 24 hours
    • Maximum: 48-72 hours
    • Varies by location and ISP

    During Propagation:

    • • Some visitors see old site, some see new
    • • Don't make changes to old hosting yet
    • • Keep both sites running if possible
    • • Email may be inconsistent

    Checking Propagation:

    Use online tools:

    • whatsmydns.net: Global DNS checker
    • dnschecker.org: Worldwide DNS propagation
    • DNS Lookup: Check from multiple locations

    Command Line Check:

    # Windows
    nslookup yourdomain.com

    # Linux/Mac
    dig yourdomain.com

    # Check specific nameserver
    dig @8.8.8.8 yourdomain.com

    Alternative: A Record Method

Instead of changing nameservers, you can point domain via A records:

    When to Use:

    • • Want to keep email at current provider
    • • Need specific DNS configurations
    • • Using third-party email service
    • • More control over DNS records

    How to Set Up:

    1. Find your server's IP address in cPanel
    2. At domain registrar, go to DNS management
    3. Create A record: Host: @ (or blank), Points to: your server IP
    4. Create A record for www: Host: www, Points to: your server IP
    5. Save changes

    Common Issues

    Nameserver Change Not Saving
